Mantl ("the app", "we", "us") is a nervous-system regulation app for men, operated by Mantl. LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. This policy explains what information the app handles, and what it doesn't. The short version: your personal progress stays on your device, the app currently works without an account, and we never sell your data.
1. What we don't collect
- No account needed today. Mantl currently works without signing up — it doesn't ask for your name, email address, or phone number.
- No health data leaves your device. Your check-ins, exercise history, reading progress, and "did it shift?" responses are currently stored locally on your device, not on our servers.
- No microphone, camera, contacts, or location access. The app does not currently request these permissions.
- No tracking across other apps or websites. We do not use advertising identifiers and we do not sell or share data for advertising.
2. What we do collect
Anonymous usage analytics. We use PostHog to understand how the app is used in aggregate (for example: which tools are opened, how often sessions complete, crashes). These events are associated with a randomly generated identifier, not with your name or identity, and are used solely to improve the app.
What you tell us in the app. If you answer the optional one-tap questions during setup, such as what brought you here and where things stand in your relationships, that answer is stored on your device and attached to the same anonymous identifier so the app can tailor which situations and reminders it shows you. It is never linked to your name, and you can change or clear it any time in the app's settings.
Payment details. There is nothing to buy in Mantl. The whole app is open, no payment details are collected, and we never see a card number.
3. Third-party services
- Google Play and Apple — distribute the app under their own privacy policies.
- PostHog — anonymous product analytics.
- RevenueCat — issues the anonymous identifier the app is keyed to. No purchases and no payment data pass through it.
- Supabase — hosts the app's content library (articles and series). Content is downloaded to your device; no personal data is uploaded.
- Formspree — receives the email address you type into the notify form on this website, and nothing else.
4. This website
Sections 1 to 3 describe the app. On mantlapp.com itself we use PostHog to record which pages and sections are read, which links are clicked, and how far down a page people scroll, so we know what is worth building more of. That analytics uses a cookie holding a randomly generated identifier. It is first-party only: no advertising networks, no cross-site tracking, and nothing is sold.
Nothing loads until you say yes. If you decline the cookie notice, or simply ignore it, the analytics script is never loaded, no cookie is set and no events are recorded. Every part of the site, including the Mirror and the tools, works exactly the same either way. To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser and the notice will appear again.
The Mirror. Your answers on mantlapp.com/mirror stay in your browser. If you allowed the cookie, we also receive which questions were answered yes, the four resulting scores and the pattern they add up to, attached to the same random identifier as above, because knowing which patterns bring men here is what tells us what to write next. That is a statement about you, so we want to be plain about it: it is not linked to your name, we never ask who you are, and declining the cookie notice means none of it is sent at all.
The tools on this site run entirely in your browser. If you allowed the cookie we record which tool was opened and whether it was finished, and nothing else about the session.
If you enter your email address in either form on this site, we store that address, and the pattern if you have taken the Mirror, for one purpose: to send you the single email you asked for. Reply to it and we will delete your address.
5. Data retention & deletion
Locally stored data (your progress) lives on your device and is deleted when you delete the app. Anonymous analytics events are retained for a limited period for product analysis. Because we hold no account or identity for you, there is no personal profile for us to delete — but if you have any privacy request or question, contact us and we will help.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Since Mantl holds no identified personal data, most of these rights are satisfied by design — but we will respond to any request at the address below.
7. Children
Mantl is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Not medical care
Mantl provides educational content and self-guided regulation exercises. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical or psychological diagnosis or treatment, and is not a substitute for professional care. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services immediately.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the date above. If we introduce features that collect new information — such as optional accounts, cloud sync of your progress, or voice and camera tools — we will update this policy and ask for your agreement in the app before those features collect anything new from you.
